LEADERSHIP

HOPE HAVEN TEAMS
Our Hope Haven Teams provide valuable support to cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers in Second Life. Sandie Loxingly Slate, Hope Haven Lead, is working to help expand our support groups and our ability to connect residents of Second Life to available American Cancer Society services. This includes The Patient Navigator Program where a cancer specialist can connect them with a navigator program in their area that will provide cancer information, support and referrals to community programs and resources.
.

FUNDRAISING TEAMS
Our Fundraising Teams are responsible for coordinating the many tasks associated with raising funds to support the American Cancer Society. Relay For Life, Strides Campaigns and MEGA Events are all areas where our teams work to raise funds. Together they work year round across the grid, reaching out to others and equipping volunteers with the knowledge and skills to be successful ambassadors of the American Cancer Society.
.

PROMOTION TEAMS
Our Promotion Teams are responsible for facilitating communication across the grid for all things related to ACS in Second Life. Our Social Media sites, inworld groups and ACS calendar are but a few of the ways we communicate with supporters and volunteers. We also have relationships with broadcasters, live streamers and multi-media producers to promote our many activities. Media relations is an important part of ACS in Second Life.
.

OPERATIONS TEAMS
Our Operations Teams are responsible for the inworld presence of the American Cancer Society. Group activities, support and hospitality are but a few of the things that occur on American Cancer Society Island. The island is home to Hope Haven, Relay For Life, Strides and the Catt Gable Memorial Garden. Linden Lab has also generously donated our ACS2 region where we host many of the events that occur throughout the year including our Relay Ceremonies.
